    1. I'm gonna round up a bit and give this a rating of 3 ✭, instead of my more incline 2.5 ✭ just for the fact that I'm not the target audience. The book wasn't bad, it was just meant for girl's between the ages of 12 and 17. I haven't seen a number 1 in front of my age in decades. So all the teenage swooniness of Conor was unfortunately lost on me. All the darlin's and sweethearts and such did zero for me except give my rolling eyes a work out. I can definitely see a young girl would think he' [...]

    2. For fans of the Redemption series, you'll love this story centered around Conor (and featuring a few of your other favorite characters). But, even if you've not read RK Ryals, you'll still fall for The Acropolis. The Acropolis is a refreshing story of good guy hero Conor Reinhardt and his fragile but fiesty charge, Emma Chase. As a gargoyle (yes, gargoyle, protector, guardian - this guy rocks) *side note- that was an unintentional pun, so I decided to leave it. Aannnyway, as a gargoyle, Conor is [...]

    3. 3.75 starsI like that there's no unnecessary drama in this book. It's straightforward, the pace is fantastic.I immidiately drawn toward Connor, the defiance brave Gargoyle. I am protective of Emma, the She-Demon with a heart of gold. overall, it's probably not as epic as other fantasy saga, but it's intriguing. I'm looking forward to reading its sequels.

    4. This book was gifted to me based on the Acropolis Book Blog Tour. So I decided to read it for review as a thank you, since hosting a book on my blog is not that much of a chore. Am I glad I did that! This is a fresh and new YA romance/paranormal book. The gargoyle was for me, a fresh new and exciting edge. The romance part, for a chance, was not love at first sight. No, this book is based on morals, prejudice and acceptance. I see the age restriction on is 16 +, It is a pity, the language was n [...]

    5. The Acropolis by R.K. Ryals was a book that incorporated drama and action very well. There was enough action to keep you on your seat, while there was enough drama to constantly keep your mind moving. This book only got three stars due to the fact that I felt the sensory imaging could've been so much greater than there was. While there was really good imaging and passages within Ryals' book, but I felt that they were too few and spread out. In the end the book read fast, and had an original stor [...]

    6. 3.5* would be better. We follow the journey of a young girl, who is going through the transformation of being half demon. With a sprinkle of romance, and few baddies to make that journey a rocky road from hell. Excellent adventure. Excellent characters. Written well. Recommended reading if you like YA fantasy.

    7. In fact, I have never met anyone who didn't like Gargoyles. - Keith DavidConor Reinhardt is a gargoyle who has been demoted for breaking the rules. he is given a new assignment and a new mark to protect. Conor, though, is not expecting it to be Emma Chase. keeping in mind the protection of mankind, Conor must comply at all cost and bring Emma to a school called The Acropolis. author R.K. Ryals' first book in the Acropolis series was an unexpected surprise for me and it was a very pleasant one. s [...]

    8. When I first read Redemption by R.K. Ryals, the character Connor was my second favorite, my first being Monroe. After reading The Acropolis I may have switched my favorites. The Acropolis is a spin-off from Redemption, taking the character of Connor and giving him his own story. The Acropolis takes place after Redemption, it's obvious by some of the storyline, but can be read as a stand-alone. It could make you want to pick up Redemption or want to dig into more of R.K. Ryals work. Connor is a g [...]

    9. I absolutely LOVE this book. I have been stuck in a paranormal reading rut lately, and while I try to give each book it's own time, this book definitely made my heart sing! I try to look at each book with a new eye, even if it happens to be the 15th werewolf/vampire book in a row that I have read. This book was a refreshing "new" paranormal book. The author is so skilled in her writing that you get fully engrossed in the book. I literally had to set timers when I read it so that I wouldn't spend [...]

    10. The gargoyle spin isn't something you see a lot of, and I found it refreshing. Conor, one of many gargoyles tasked with protecting humans and, at times, other creatures is assigned to Emma's protection. Emma has no idea she's a half-demon and has a myriad of powers just waiting to be unleashed. Cute characters, lovely fantasy world, and great writing. Can't wait to follow the rest of the series.

    11. Wow I finally got around to reading this book and as usual R.k Ryals has blown me away. The Acropolis engaged me and kept me on the edge of my seat (or bed :P) the whole time. R.k Ryals I love your books!!!!!

    12. I'm pleasantly surprised by this book, the plot sounded interesting but i didn't knew that i was going to get so much into it. I found the relationship hybrid/gargoyle pretty unique and i liked that. I can't wait to get to know more about the characters and their histories.

    13. This is the first book I've read by this author and I wasn't disappointed. I love paranormal/fantasy but I must admit this is my first gargoyle and demon adventure! It's YA so good for a younger audience but not written in a way to exclude any age group. It's fast paced, funny and action packed. Anxious to dive right into the next book in the series!

    14. One word that caan describe this book is "Meh". The book was not for me. The writing was simple, something for young people under 18 who just want something simple, fast paced, to read.

    15. This was.e. Song Choice: (yeah i am going to get so much crap for this but) Blurred Lines by Robin Thick, "Middle Distance Runner" by Seawolf, "They" by JemFirst Thoughts: So, Goodness its been a really, really long time since I started RK Ryals other series that happens in the same universe, i was almost i think 30% into the book before i realized it XD. Anyways I realize again how much I love her style, its not so sophisticated it feels like you are reading nonfiction, but its also very mature [...]

    16. You know how you read the first book in a series and you are so impacted by it that you worry the rest of the books in the series won't stack up. Well, this book is the first in a series, but it is a spinoff of Ryals' first Paranormal YA Romance series, Redemption. Ryals fully engaged me in the world of angels and demons created in Redemption. I rooted for the heroine and fell head over heels in LOVE with Marcas, the dark demon hero. Conor, the hero of this story, is heavily involved in the Rede [...]

    17. Its no secret that I went absolutely mental during and after reading the Redemption series. I absolutely went crazy nuts for Dayton (cause who doesnt love a potty mouth, dumdum addicted, bad ass chick with daddy & demon issues), Marcas (dark, broody hybrid demon & so smokin, hes got abs so hot you could cook a steak on!), Monroe (with all her wicca, sarcasm & movie quotes) and Conor (that gargoyle, charming as sin, heart on his sleeve, bestie of all besties [...]

    19. This review was originally posted on my blogJourney with BooksThe Acropolis is the first installment of the Acropolis Series by R.K. Ryals. This is actually a spin-off series of The Redemption Series by the same author. If you've been reading my past few posts, you'll know how much I loved The Redemption Series! I am absolutely a fan of it! And because of that I have very high expectations for The Acropolis. I must say that the fans of The Redemption Series will NOT be disappointed! It is defini [...]

    20. *BOWS DOWN* to this phenomenal new series. Just as spectacular as “The Redemption Trilogy”I received this book from Author R.K. Ryals herself for my enjoyment and my fair and unbiased opinion in a review.I was so sad when The Redemption series ended, I didn’t want to think that there was no more of our Dayton and Marcas. But, at the same time I did want ti see where Regina was going to take the rest of the characters and us along with them, to see how they would develop within themselves.T [...]

    21. If you loved Marcas and Dayton in the Redemption Series and are going to pickup The Acropolis Series hoping for more of the tension and angst that drove Marcas and Dayton together, I hate to break it to you, but Connor and Emma's relationship is very, very different, and that is a GOOD thing! We are introduced the Emma as a terrified, and potentially dangerous, half demon that Connor has been assigned to escort to a school of sorts for her kind, called the Acropolis. A place where hybrid demons l [...]

    22. Title: AcopolisAuthor: R.K. RyalsDate of Release: March, 28th, 2012Number of Pages: I read it on my kindle, and it didn’t have pages. Source: ATOMR for review on blog tour! Summary from :"We have a new assignment for you, Mr. Reinhardt."These words are not comforting to me. At eighteen, I am a gargoyle who has been demoted because I broke the rules. Now I have a new mission, a new mark to protect. But I don't expect Emma Chase. I don't expect to question my own race. I don't expect to care for [...]

    23. Very enjoyable trip back to Ryals' world first revealed in the Redemption Series! This book follows Connor, Dayton's friend from Redemption, as he learns a little more about himself and exactly what it means to be a gargoyle and a protector. He also learns that being good or bad isn't quite as cut and dry as he was taught. This book is in many ways a story of tolerance and acceptance with Connor seeing a different path open up for him due to his relationship with his new "mark" and the way she s [...]

    24. Never having read anything by Ms. Ryals before, I had NO idea what I was in for with this book! I hadn't read her previous two books in the Redemption Series, that takes place in the same universe, and features some of the same characters as ACROPOLIS. I remember being told that I would enjoy this book anyway, and it is so true! The beginning sucked me in quickly with the introduction of both Conor and Emma. Two VERY opposite people who meet in extrememly crazy circumstances. They seem an unlike [...]

    25. I love you R. K. Ryals!! I love that The Acroplois is a spin off of The Redemption Series. I am so addicted to the characters you have created. It is so nice to see more of Conor. I love his protective nature and the fact that he always seems to make me laugh. I found myself pulled right in and couldn't put this book down. Besides Conor, I also love his cousin Will. Together they are absolutely hillarious. Add in Emma who seems to be afraid of everything and Deidra who is a little jokester and y [...]

    26. As a spin off, it is good, but I like the Redemption series better (so far). I'm glad Conor gets his own books as he is really very likeable. I also like how the books tie in somewhat to the Redemption series. You get some of the characters like Luther and Ethan in this book, and I'm really liking Will and Deirdre. I don't love Emma in the same way I did Dayton, but she is growing on me. I guess I just never pictured Con with someone as meek as Emma, but I think she'll grow and I am looking forw [...]

    27. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book. The synopsis is intriguing and gets you wondering so I thought, why not. I love the idea of gargoyles being real, they’re like vampires, cool, sexy, distant. Or should be! So, I picked this up without any preconceptions or idea of what to expect. And I was quite happily impressed.I read this during Dewey’s 24 hour Read a Thon and it was so nice to have something that was easy, a bit romantic and very different. There are gargoyles and [...]

    28. Review 7*******I was given a copy of this book by the author in return for an honest review. This is the first book in The Acropolis Series and I absolutely LOVED it!Conor Reinhardt is a fantastic character! He is a gargoyle; a protector of the innocent, and defender against evil. He's one of the good guys. He is honourable, trustworthy and fun to be around. Unfortunately, he's been demoted and given an escort job. Emma Chase is not what he was expecting.Emma Chase is a confused teenager. She has [...]

    29. A great addition the the paranormal world created in the Redemption series. It was well-written, fast-paced and had a great mix of action, suspense, drama and romance. I was a bit sceptical about this book as in my experience spin-off series almost always aren't as good as the original series (books and TV). However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that The Acropolis does nothing but add to the Redemption series, both in terms of the overall storyline and in filling in the details on Cono [...]
