    1. Such a fun read! For anyone who loves language and travel and adventure and a new spin on the good old-fashioned love story, this YA debut novel by Mia Franco will not disappoint. Seventeen-year-old Ali Perkins' story opens with her first flight, a long-haul journey from her home in El Paso, Texas to an upper-crust family in Brussels, Belgium, where Ali will be the summer nanny. Never mind that she doesn't love kids, and she doesn't speak French the three energetic French-speaking children in he [...]

    2. Full disclosure - Mia Franco is a friend of mine, but I had the pleasure of reading this book and laughing with and sometimes a little bit at Ali and her adventures. The writing is sharp and clever and often sweet. Ali is one of those heroines who doesn't always manage to do the right thing, but who earns our sympathy with her earnestness and her very age-appropriate existential questions. False Friends is a fun and entertaining read with just the right amount of seriousness thrown in to make Al [...]

    3. This was my blizzard book during the Juno blizzard. It is a fun read with likable, relatable characters - I especially love the narrator's snarky sense of humor! Also really love the intro to each chapter of French terminology.

    4. It's funny. Plot isn't perfect, but it's a fast read for someone who likes (french) language and discovering new places. Intended for teens, but enjoyable for older readers (like me :) too.

    5. So I was really entertained by this book, hence the four stars. I thought it was a cute concept, and I love a book involving Americans going to Europe for the first time and culture shock. There was nothing super unique about Ali, but she was likeable enough. I also really liked her friends, Xenia and Bouchra. Etienne was also decent, and Will was just the kind of guy you know you shouldn't like so you don't. (view spoiler)[I really liked seeing Ali's relationship with the kids evolve over her t [...]

    6. Ok, so the review might be optional, but most needed in this case, specially when I got this book in a ' giveaway settled by the author, who sure enough deserves some praise for her work and efforts. So let's start by saying I've loved the edition of this book, not to mention the nice shoelaces that were sent along with it. The book is very well edited and has a lovely cover (even the touch is appealing) featuring those blue and pink chunks that match the exact colors of aforementioned shoelaces. [...]

    7. That must be my lucky day! I'm very delighted for being chosen as a winner in your giveaway.I truly appreciate your kindness.I must say that this kind of books is absolutely my cup of tea ,because I do know how it feels when you have friendsThank you again ^-^. I'll make sure to leave a review after I finish reading the book and I'm sorry if style of writing isn't suitable for someone who is expert is this field, because English isn't my mother tongue, still I'll do my best.

    8. I received this book through the Giveaway Program. For fans of Jenny Han, this author is a must read. I liked everything about this book - characters, writing style, flow, etc. I hope that Mia Franco is working on another novel!
