Mother’s Day Gifts
No sooner has Valentine’s Day finished than we are gearing up for the next big flower and present fest that is Mother’s Day. I’ve never been sure where Mother’s Day and Father’s Day originated from – I seem to have a vague recollection that we kind of import them both from the States. Certainly Father’s Day was so insignificant when I was younger that it was virtually unheard of – it’s only since I’ve had kids of my own that I’ve even remotely been aware of it.
Mother’s Day has been around for a lot longer – and it kind of seems right to thank Mum for all she does for you. Certainly a bunch of flowers is the least you can do. However, the range of presents for Mother’s Day has grown enormously in recent years – not to say that the bunch of flowers or the pot plant isn’t a time honoured and respectable option.
